YEREVAN. – Armenia has entered a new stage of dialogue with the European Union, MP from Armenia's ruling party Artak Zakaryan said on Friday.

The Armenian lawmaker said European states' cautious approach to the summit issues are clear. Armenia, on its part, managed to make its approaches maximum understandable for the European counterparts.

“It was repeatedly noted that in relations with EU, Armenia relied on common values, and the process will be consistent,” he said during the hearings on European integration.

EU continues to provide significant support to the reform of state agencies and public administration, Zakaryan added.

As explained by the MP, the main objective of the current negotiations is to find opportunities for cooperation in accordance with the obligations of Armenia. However, Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Union can not be an obstacle to cooperation in various fields. Now it is necessary to form a new system of relations.

“We hope that during the summit in Riga a message of readiness for further cooperation will be voiced,” he concluded.
