YEREVAN. – Eurasian commitment of Armenia still makes it possible to deepen relations with the European Union, Mr Trajan Hristea, Head of EU Delegation in Armenia, told at the hearings on the European integration of Armenia ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit, due in Riga on May 21-22.

He stressed that the EU is determined to keep involvement in all the six countries of the Eastern Partnership – not only Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, who already signed the EU Association agreements, but also “with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and, why not, Belarus”.

The EU is keen to keep the partnership alive with these countries, whatever their level of admission to the European Union, and whatever other international commitments they might have.

“We want to avoid new dividing lines in Europe,” Ambassador Hristea added.
