The Spanish newspaper Marca de Gol presents the detailed description of the color grade and symbols on the new jerseys of Argentinean football squad Deportivo Armenio, which will perform in the third league of Argentinean football championship.

The article reads:

“Sometimes a jersey can serve as the commemoration symbol of the most tragic pages in the human history. This is the case with the new jerseys of the Deportivo Armenio football club. The sportswear company Lyon, the club’s technical sponsor, presented the uniform in this very manner. In these jerseys the squad will conduct matches in memory of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The jerseys are mainly of black color, which symbolizes mourning. The three lines running obliquely have different shades of grey. In the region of heart they flare up into red, blue and orange – the colors of the Armenian flag.

Moreover, the jersey bears details which maximally individualize it. The arms are covered by purple, yellow, black and lilac lines which respectively stand for the future, the sun’s eternity and hope for life, the past, horrors and remembrance, as well as the present. The inscription “I Remember and Demand” is placed on the back.

The outer part depicts the emblem of the Armenian Genocide Museum, as well as the inscription: “1915-2015: 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.” In the front part a forget-me-not - another official symbol of the commemoration events - is embroidered.”
