President Obama put out a very powerful statement speaking to the historical events that happened, State Department acting spokesperson Marie Harf said in response to numerous questions about the Armenian Genocide.

“It was a very lengthy statement. I know you’ve all read it. We understand that some people may want to hear different language used. We believe this is the right course, but all you have to do is read the President’s statement to see how seriously he feels about these historical issues,” Marie Harf said during a briefing on Friday.

The journalist recalled that in his statement Obama used the phrase “I have consistently stated my own view of what occurred in 1915, and my view has not changed” and asked to remind about President's view. Marie Harf dodged the question just as others like “Do you think it is U.S. national interest to deny the truth about the Armenian genocide” or “Are you afraid of Turkey? What can Turkey do to a country as big and powerful as the United States? ”

During the briefing Marie Harf came under fire of the questions about Armenian Genocide, just as during the whole week. She once again refused to compare the Holocaust of Jews and Armenian Genocide.
