YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Wednesday paid a visit to Yerevan State University (YSU).

First, the president attended the official unveiling of the Tree Alley of Gratitude, which the YSU has founded on the occasion of the Armenian Genocide Centennial. The busts of the twelve of the numerous Europeans and Americans, who carried out pro-Armenian activities during and after the genocide, have been placed on both sides of this tree alley.

Next, Sargsyan toured the YSU’s new Centre of Excellence of Applied Biology. The President was briefed on the capabilities of this center’s laboratories, which are equipped with ultramodern tools and instruments.

Following the tour, the President of Armenia participated in the 2015 inaugural meeting of the YSU Board of Trustees. As a result of voting, Serzh Sargsyan was unanimously reelected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yerevan State University.
