YEREVAN. – The Alley of Gratitude opened at the grounds of Yerevan State University (YSU), and in honor of well-known foreign individuals who helped the Armenian people in the years of the Armenian Genocide, and who condemned this tragedy.

Accordingly, the busts of twelve such persons are placed in this alley, which officially opened on Wednesday.

The busts of Johannes Lepsius, Karen Jeppe, Fridtjof Nansen, Henry Morgenthau, Franz Werfel, James Bryce, Armin Wegner, Anatole France, Jakob Künzler, Raphael Lemkin, Pierre Quillard, and Alma Johansson are placed in the alley.

The Alley of Gratitude was founded by the donations from the YSU staff, faculty, students, and several benefactors.
