Armenia’s second President and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s (NKR; Artsakh) First President Robert Kocharyan congratulated incumbent NKR President Bako Sahakyan on holding the NKR National Assembly (NA) elections.

“President Robert Kocharyan had a telephonic conversation with NKR President Bako Sahakyan.

“President Kocharyan congratulated Bako Sahakyan and all people of Artsakh in connection with the conduct of free and fair parliamentary elections, and stressed their importance in the establishment of statehood and strengthening of democracy of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” the message of congratulations specifically reads.

NKR NA election was held on Sunday. Seven political parties ran for the country’s 33 parliamentary seats by the proportional system. In addition, fifty individuals, 27 of whom self-nominated, vied for the parliamentary mandates by the majority system.
