YEREVAN. – Work on the first three chapters of the draft constitutional reforms in Armenia has been basically completed, work begins on the remaining chapters, in particular those related to formation of the government, a source told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The deadline for submission of proposals on the constitutional reform expires today .According to our information, ARF, “Freedom” party of former PM Hrant Bagratyan, “National Unity” party of MP from the ruling faction Artashes Geghamyan  and “The Armenian Homeland” party have submitted their proposals.

Our sources also reported that at the end of the week, the Special Commission on constitutional reforms will convene a regular meeting to determine the next steps, to discuss the schedule and proposals of the parties.

As a result of consideration of the proposals and as a result of political consultations, it will be clear whether one or two packages of constitutional reforms will be presented. It is known that the Commission will present draft constitutional reform to public in August, while referendum is expected to be held in November.
