YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) deputies’ petition for the release of former MP, opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) member Gohar Yenokyan, has been submitted to the General Prosecutor’s Office minutes ago, PAP Chairperson Naira Zohrabyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Zohrabyan noted that the chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs, Elinar Vardanyan, submitted this petition which 37 MPs have signed under.

The deputies demand Yenokyan’s release from detention, and a bulletin on the ex-MP’s health condition is attached to this formal request.

MPs from all NA factions have joined this signature campaign.

We have learned that Gohar Yenokyan was arrested within the framework of a case being examined at the Special Investigation Service, and which is linked to her nephew.
