YEREVAN: If the state is going to tax seasonal workers going abroad, let it give them a proper social package, Artsvik Minasyan, ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction MP and Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs  Committee Deputy Chair, said in the Parliament on Tuesday, referring to the draft of amendments to the Law on Income Tax. The draft proposes to tax 13 per cent of the income of employees working abroad within Armenian companies.

These are mainly the companies which will implement activities by foreign tendering. Obviously, these are first of all construction tenders in Russia, Minasyan said.

“If a man leaves for Russia, subjecting himself and his family to risk, and we tax him, we should also create certain rights, including right to medical insurance, since these people are supporters of their families,” the MP concluded.
