Sandra Jeknavorian, assistant professor at Three Rivers Community College, Norwich, Connecticut, has been selected as the recipient of the distinguished service award in art education presented by the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts of the University of New Haven, the local newspaper The Bulletin reports.

Jeknavorian received her bachelor’s degree in painting from Hartford Art School and her master’s in the same field from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Her work is included in the permanent collection of the U.S. Department of State, and two of her pieces are presented in the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, Armenia.
