YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday received Japanese Ambassador Takehito Harada, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The President thanked Ambassador Harada for his contribution and productive activities—during his tenure as ambassador—toward the development of Armenian-Japanese relations.

The interlocutors praised the recent invigoration of Armenian-Japanese interparliamentary dialogue. The Armenian President and the Japanese ambassador shared the view that relations and collaboration are improving the bilateral legal framework.

President Sargsyan thanked the Japanese government for its assistance to Armenia’s development projects, and collaboration within international organizations.

At the end of the talk, the President wished Ambassador Harada success, and stressed that although he is ending his tenure in Armenia, he remains a friend of the country and the Armenian people.

Takehito Harada, for his part, assured that he will do everything possible—even after the completion of his diplomatic mission in Armenia—, and assist Japan’s first resident ambassador in the country to further strengthen Armenian-Japanese state relations and deepen friendship between the two peoples.
