YEREVAN. – The specialized committee on constitutional reforms will introduce the new draft Constitution to the people of Armenia at the end of May. 

Constitutional Court President Gagik Harutyunyan stated at a press conference on Friday that during Thursday’s meeting, the members of the aforementioned committee were instructed to prepare by no later than May 26 the draft Constitution’s sections they are entrusted, and submit them to the committee.

A committee session is slated for May 28 and 29, during which amendments will be made in the first reading.

At the meeting, the specialized committee will also clarify its approach toward switching from a presidential to a parliamentary system of government.
