At the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga, Azerbaijan again appeared in isolation, Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian told Azatutyun Radio Station in Riga.

“Azerbaijan again appeared in isolation, since this time 28 countries reached a single opinion on the statements to be included in the Joint Declaration. The latter will touch on the support to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and their countries’ presidents, as well as the statements made in 2009, i.e. the statements made in Acqueville, Muskoka, Los Cabos and Enniskillen. We repeated many times that our approaches conform to the provisions and proposals included in those statements, and only Azerbaijan hasn’t yet expressed its stance over the matter,” Armenia’s FM said.

According to Nalbandian, Azerbaijan’s FM left the conference room as a mark of protest.

“Attempts were made to return him, but useless. In the end, as a result of the talks, agreement was reached to adopt the Declaration, while Azerbaijan will present its objections on the corresponding provisions [later],” Nalbandian said.
