YEREVAN. – Stealing vehicles in Armenia has become more difficult.

The Deputy Chief of Police, Vardan Yegiazaryan stated the aforesaid at Monday’s National Assembly committees’ debates on the 2014 State Budget Execution Report.

Yegiazaryan noted that in 2014, the vehicle license plate registration system was installed in several Traffic Police cars. As a result, the license plates are registered immediately, and this enables to quickly identify the vehicles that are sought, or those that are subjected to other restrictions on free movement.

The deputy police chief added that, owing to this new system, last year the Traffic Police of Armenia found 261 problematic automobiles in the country.
