YEREVAN. – The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Sergo Karapetyan, on Wednesday received the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Deputy Regional Representative for Central and Eastern Europe, FAO Representative in Armenia, Antonio Alonzi.

The minister stressed the effectiveness of the FAO projects being implemented in Armenia, and expressed the hope that these projects will continue and include several other branches of agriculture.

“In the future, we aim to expand the scope of cooperation with FAO and implement new joint projects,” Karapetyan noted.

Alonzi, for his part, informed that a pilot project in the fish farming sector is planned to be implemented in Armenia in the near future.

The FAO official also reiterated his readiness to assist in the development and implementation of new projects aimed at the growth of Armenia’s agriculture sector.
