The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, held a joint news conference Wednesday in the Syrian capital city of Damascus, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem of Syria.

“We are witnessing new atrocities, barbarism, as a result of which millions of Syrians, including tens of thousands of Armenians, are forced to go into exile again.

“The situation of Syria’s peaceful population, including the Armenians and other minorities, is our constant concern. In this regard, I would like to express our gratitude to the Syrian authorities for the caring attitude toward the [Syrian] Armenian community, our cultural heritage,” the Armenian FM specifically stated during the news conference.
