Trade relations between Belarus and Armenia do not correspond to the potential, chairman of Belarus parliament Vladimir Andreichenko said.

During a meeting with Armenian Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, he reminded that in 2014 Belarus-Armenia trade totaled $38.6 million, 6.8% down from 2013, BELTA reported.

“The beginning of this year was not very good either,” noted the MP. “We have many opportunities for interaction — in agriculture, the delivery of machines, establishment of enterprises, manufacturing cooperation. We are ready to take various steps with regard to leasing-based sales on the terms that will suit the Armenian side.”

In his opinion, cooperation at the level of regions could be one of the successful cooperation options.

Over 50 agreements in different directions have been signed with Armenia, he said, adding that the legal base should be developed.
