YEREVAN. – The youngest son of the Budaghyan family is being brought to Yerevan by Armenia's National Security Service officers within a criminal case over a murder attempt on Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan.

Ara Budaghyan has left the building of NSS office in Goris and now is coming to Yerevan, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned.

The law enforcement agencies said they are searching for a man, who is probably 55 years old. Armenia’s Syunik region governor Surik Khachatryan’s car was fired on the Goris-Kapan road in May.

As reported earlier, back in 2013 summer shots were fired nearby Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan’s home in Goris city. One person was killed and two others sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Goris hospital. The person who died was Avo Budaghyan, the former Goris mayoral candidate. The wounded were Budaghyan’s brother Artak, and Nikolay Abrahamyan, a relative and bodyguard of Khachatryan.

Pursuant to his petition, Surik Khachatryan was relieved of his duties as Governor of Syunik Region, but was later re-appointed.
