YEREVAN. - The members coordinating the sit-in in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue launched an awareness action from city’s Liberty Square. The awareness action aims to inform the citizens about the already 12-day sit-in still going on in Baghramyan Avenue.

The participants of the action are heading from Liberty Square to Northern Avenue, and then to Republic Square, after which they will go to Baghramyan Avenue via Amiryan Street and Mashtots Avenue.

The awareness action participants are scanning: “Join in!”, “Cancellation”, “No to electricity price hike,” urging the citizens by loudspeakers to join the sit-in going on in Baghramyan Avenue.

The awareness action participants stopped for a moment in front of Armenia’s Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, Armenian News - NEWS.am correspondent reports. They are complaining that the police have formed a wall in the back side of the march and the citizens can’t join them.

The sit-in coordinator Davit Sanasaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am about this with dissatisfaction, noting that the number of the police is quite big.

“We are less [in number] than the police; there’s no need in them at all, but since they are controlling [the situation], let them walk at least by the march, and not hinder it,” he said.

After such complaints, the police officers began walking by the march participants.
