YEREVAN. – The product of the Armenal plant could be supplied to some European clients of Russian aluminum.

Director of the Packaging Division at Rusal  JSC, Sergey Goryachev, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Monday. He noted this in response to a question on supplying aluminum to the European Union (EU) with an anti-dumping duty.

“Europe is not closed for us. We have Armenal, where we have increased production volumes by up to 5,000 tons; this year we will approach 33,000 tons,” noted Goryachev. “A huge work has been done, over the past four years, to mend the shortcomings. It is a completely good enterprise, which covers all the plans of our sales in Europe.”

On July 3, the EU had imposed an anti-dumping duty upon Rusal aluminum company of Russia; this duty, however, does not apply to Armenal, which is this company’s subsidiary in Armenia.
