The mayor of Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, Taron Margaryan—who is in the French city of Marseilles from Sunday to Thursday on an official visit—, met with his Marseilles colleague, Jean-Claude Gaudin.

World-renowned French Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, public activist, and diplomat Charles Aznavour also attended the talk.

Gaudin noted that the Yerevan mayor’s current official visit, and the agreements reached within the framework of this visit, will greatly contribute to the further development of relations between the two cities.

Rest assured that Yerevan is a best partner for us, and we truly underscore the expansion and strengthening of collaboration with Yerevan” added the mayor of Marseilles.

Margaryan, for his part, stressed the current high level of Armenian-French relations, and highlighted the need to enhance Yerevan-Marseille friendship and partnership.

“Marseilles indeed has a great role in the expansion and strengthening of Armenian-French relations,” added the mayor of Yerevan.

At the end of the meeting, Taron Margaryan invited Jean-Claude Gaudin and Charles Aznavour to attend the Erebuni-Yerevan 2797 celebrations to be held in the capital city of Armenia.
