Kazakhstan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) may result in additional risks in the re-export of products and foods via Kazakhstan to the other Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) countries (Armenia, Russia, and Belarus), reported the Vedomosti daily of Russia.

The daily also noted that, overall, 3,000 commercial positions will face the risk of re-export. Accordingly, average customs duties total 6.5 percent within the framework of the WTO, whereas they are 10.4 percent in the EEU.

Moreover, it is unclear how the new realities will be regulated along the lines of the EEU, since Kazakhstan has no customs border with the other EEU member countries.
