YEREVAN. – Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan on Tuesday met with Argentina's newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeitia.

By congratulating the Ambassador on beginning his diplomatic mission in Armenia, Yerevan Mayor expressed confidence that warm relations with the embassy will continue, and said he is hope that ambassador's actions will give new impetus to business relations between the two capitals.

Mr. Margaryan noted importance of the agreement on declaring Yerevan and Buenos Aires sister cities and added that there is a wide range of possibilities and prospects for cooperation in exchange of experience and different areas of urban economy.

“Yerevan is expanding the framework of cooperation from year to year, and I do expect, Mr. Ambassador, that with your support we will establish partner ties between Yerevan and Buenos Aires,” the Mayor added.

Ambassador Urriolabeitia for his part said he attaches importance to Mayor's willingness to expand ties.

“The problems of cities are basically the same, and I agree with you, Mr. Mayor, that by working in the spheres of mutual interest, we will find easier solutions to them. And I assure you that in the framework of my powers we will do everything to establish and develop partnership between cities of the two countries and we will discuss the implementation of specific projects in the future,” Ambassador said.
