YEREVAN. – The US and France will do everything to increase the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group members’ (Russia, US, France) role in the region, and that large-scale military operations do not start on the Line of Contact.

Director of the Concord Center for Legal and Political Studies, analyst Davit Shahnazaryan, stated the aforesaid at a seminar on Thursday.

In his words, unprecedented events have occurred over the course of the past one month.

“Russia was behind the July-August tension last year,” added Shahnazaryan. “Russia wanted to show that the ceasefire regime is run by Moscow itself.”

The analyst also recalled the OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair, Ambassador James Warlick’s interview to Russian media.

“In this interview, the ambassador delicately says: Russia has upset the military balance in Azerbaijan’s favor,” said Davit Shahnazaryan. “In my view, a new negotiating process will begin, and the scale is on Armenia’s side.”
