YEREVAN. - Because of the cancellation of the “Yerevan TARAZfest” event scheduled in the framework of “Yerevan Summer 2015” program, a group of Japanese tourists left Armenia disillusioned, Varditer Harutyunyan, who every year represents Armenia in folk costume during international tourist exhibitions in Japan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.  

According to her, she learnt about “YerevanTARAZfest” event held by Yerevan Municipality in the framework of “Yerevan Summer 2015” program, and told about it to her Japanese partners. The latter decided to attend and take part in the event dressed in Japanese folk costumes. But the event wasn’t held, and the Municipality hadn’t notified beforehand concerning the change of the day.

Having addressed to the Municipality for clarifications, Harutyunyan was told that the Municipality is in a “force majeure situation” these days, since it is busy with the Pan-Armenian games. According to them, it was decided to postpone the event scheduled for August 2 to August 5. The Municipality was going to notify about the cancellation of the event on August 4.
