YEREVAN. – In case of normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, Turkey’s Kurds would have had fewer reasons to aggravate situation in Turkey, representatives of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Hoshavi Babakr told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The conflict of Armenia and Turkey impacts the region and is a part of regional tension.

“If dividing issues are resolved, and the borders are open, all parties, including the Kurds, could take advantage of promising economic and political opportunities,” the politician said.

He added that Turkish PM’s strategic program of “zero problems with neighbors” had to consider serious involvement of Armenia which had not been done because of pressure from Azerbaijan.

The politician noted that one of the highest GDP growth rates in the world was recorded when Justice and Development Party came to power. This happened also in the Kurdish regions of Turkey, where economic growth was registered for the first time in history.

“This growth could be spread on the territory of Armenia and become a part of its growth. I know that the Kurds who live in areas bordering with Armenia are very interested in development of comprehensive relations with Armenia,” he added.
