Director of Genocide museum Hayk Demoyan told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev the history of construction of the Memorial to Genocide victims (Tsitsernakaberd).

Demoyan informed Russian President of the essence and symbolism of the complex for all Armenians, NEWS.am correspondent reported.  The Director showed the view to Ararat Mount from Tsitsernakaberd.

Hayk Demoyan also told that during his trip to Kars, Russian Emperor Nikolas I failed to see Ararat Mount because of fog. When Nikolas headed to Gyumri he was told that the fog had dispersed and Ararat is seen, but etiquette did not allow the Emperor to turn back. Thus, he could not see the whole beauty of Ararat.

 The Russian delegation headed by President Dmitry Medvedev and accompanied by Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian and Director of Genocide museum Hayk Demoyan laid a wreath at the Mmorial to Armenian Genocide victims. Today he also watered the fir he planted two years ago.

On August 19, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his spouse Svetlana Medvedeva have arrived on a state visit to Armenia at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
