YEREVAN. - If the government doesn't subsidize the increased electricity price of small and medium enterprises (SME), inflation will begin, SME representatives told Armenian News – NEWS.am.  Part of them have already received agreements, under which the company representatives must pay 48,78 AMD instead of the former 48,78 AMD per 1kW/h.

“We bake everything at our company, both bread and pastries, and if the electricity price rises, we'll have to raise the prices too,” director of one company dealing with production and sale of flour products told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

Others assured that in the conditions of reduced turnover of goods, the already decreased income will decline even more, as a result of which their business will become unprofitable, and they might think of closing it.

“They force you to close your business. If we almost don’t have clients now, there will be absolutely no one after the price hike. And I’ll close my business and leave for another country,” the owner of one of Armenian breweries said.

Nevertheless, almost all SMEs said thy have “no way out” and will sign the agreements with the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA).
