A group of California residents has filed a lawsuit with Los-Angeles federal court against Nestle over claims that its Fancy Feast cat food contains Thai sea products obtained due to slave labor.

According to the plaintiffs, Nestle has bought over 13,000 tons of cat food containing sea products from Thai Union Frozen Products. Some of the ingredients of that food might have been obtained due to slave labor, Gazeta.ru reports, citing Bloomberg.

Nestle’s Thai supplier frequently gets its sea products from trawlers whose crews are often composed of men and boys who have been trafficked from Myanmar and Cambodia.
