The two Kurdish MPs from Turkey’s pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP), who have recently become ministers for the first time in the country’s history, have again done something that is ground-breaking for the country.

HDP MPs Müslüm Doğan and Ali Haydar Konca who have been appointed Minister of Development and Minister of European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator, respectively, have stated that they are canceling the non-accreditation that is in force for the opposition media, reported Sözcü daily of Turkey.

The ministers stated that, from now on, all media can follow the events to take place in their ministries.

“If the press is free, let everyone participate, let everyone follow our announcements,” stated the Kurdish ministers.

Doğan and Konca had earlier announced that they are declining from the use of red license plates, expensive service vehicles, and bodyguards that are assigned to ministers in Turkey.
