YEREVAN. – The processes toward recognition of the “EEU [i.e. Eurasian Economic Union] Product” status of goods need to be clarified.

Attorney at the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia, Arkadi Sahakyan, told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, this clarification will help shed light on how goods from free economic zones shall be imported into Armenia.

The EEU goods will be able to freely move within the union—which includes Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and most recently, Kyrgyzstan. But it is unclear which organization shall issue the “EEU Product” status.

As per the attorney, the issuance of a certificate on the goods’ point of origin being an EEU member country is insufficient.

“That’s why we have to clarify as to which body must be petitioned to,” stated Sahakyan.
