STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Tuesday sent a letter condolence to the family of Diaspora Armenian businessman, public activist, and benefactor Vahakn Hovnanian, who passed away on Monday.

“I have learnt with deep sorrow about the death of philanthropist, deserved son of the Armenian nation, Vahakn Hovnanian.

“Vahakn Hovnanian was a remarkable person, a great patriot, who devoted his entire life to his own people, the development and reinforcement of the Armenian independent statehood, and resolution of pan-Armenian issues. A variety of strategically important projects were implemented with his active participation.

“In this hour of irretrievable loss, I express, on behalf of the people, the authorities of Artsakh and myself in person, condolences and support to Vahakn Hovnanian’s family, relatives and friends. His memory will always stay bright in our hearts,” reads the NKR President’s message.
