On Monday night and Tuesday morning, Azerbaijan fired shots at Baghanis border village in the Tavush Province of Armenia, and damaged the walls and windows of houses.

Baghanis prefect Narek Sahakyan told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am. He added, however, that the situation is calm, at present.

“Because of the shooting, we held the September 1 events [devoted to the start of the new school year] slightly accelerated,” noted Sahakyan. “The teachers quickly gave assignments, [and] sent the children home early, until we see what happens.

“The enemy always fires shots on festive days to disturb our events.”

The village mayor also informed that this year thirteen first-graders will attend school in Baghanis.
