Armenian soldier Gor Grigoryan, 22, who was wounded by Azerbaijan on Tuesday in the Tavush Province of Armenia, is from Russia, and he had returned to the country for military service.

Town hall representatives of Byureghavan, in the Kotayk Province, informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Gor is from our town, but he was living in Russia,” said the representatives. “His parents are there[, in Russia]; only his [paternal] uncle is here, whom we already have informed about the incident.”

Grigoryan is at the Ministry of Defense Central Clinical Military Hospital in capital city Yerevan, and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The Azerbaijani side on Tuesday fired shots for several hours at bordering Aygepar and Chinari villages in the Tavush Province. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the press secretary of the Minister of Defense, informed that there were two wounded: Contract soldiers Vladimir Gevorgyan, 19, and Gor Gevorgyan, 22.
