The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Wednesday marched toward and visited the Stepanakert Memorial in the capital city of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh).

Sargsyan was accompanied by NKR President Bako Sahakyan, the official delegation from Armenia that arrived in Artsakh to participate in the events devoted to the 24th anniversary of the declaration of the NKR, Artsakh Armenians, and guests from abroad.

At the memorial, the President paid tribute to those Armenians that have fallen for the independence of Artsakh. He also placed flowers on the graves of First Chairman Artur Mkrtchyan of the NKR Supreme Council, and martyrs of the Karabakh War.

Within the framework of the festive events, Presidents Sargsyan and Sahakyan were on hand also at the official opening of the newly constructed building of the Shushi campus of the Armenian National Agrarian University.

Next, presidents of the two Armenian republics visited—also in the NKR City of Shushi—the Yeznig Mozian Professional School, which was built under the sponsorship of the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund and co-funding by the NKR government.

And in Stepanakert, Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan attended the official opening of the TUMO x AGBU (Armenian General Benevolent Union) Center for Creative Technologies.
