YEREVAN. – Russia as a responsible co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group will insist on exclusively peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, the Russian Embassy said in a statement.
In response to the inquiry by Armenian News-NEWS.am to comment on the current tension on Armenia-Azerbaijan bordre that is a result of Azerbaijani provocation, the Embassy quoted Sergey Lavrov's statement made back in May: “Russia considers assistance to the parties to Karabakh in reaching arrangements as one of its foreign policy priorities”.
“On Karabakh settlement, as Sergey Lavrov stated on September 1, we are trying to move towards a generally acceptable denominator. I hope that progress will be made,” the statement issued by the Embassy reads.
