YEREVAN. – The degree of tension on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact is growing over the last two years.

Deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Movses Hakobyan, told the aforementioned to reporters on Friday.

In his words, the tension is maintained at the border.

“The Armed Forces [of Armenia] are ready to show combat-readiness every hour and every day, and enter into the military actions imposed on us,” noted Hakobyan.

In response to the remark regarding the five civilians of the Tavush Province being wounded by Azerbaijan, he stated that the Armenian side does everything to avoid civilian casualties.

“[But] the adversary is unable to defeat the Armed Forces, and [therefore] it pours out its evil on the civilians,” added Movses Hakobyan.
