YEREVAN. – Armenia wishes to found a German high school on the basis of a German immersion school in the country.

The Minister of Education and Science, Armen Ashotyan, noted the aforesaid at Wednesday’s talk with a delegation led by Stephan Dorgerloh, the Minister for Education and Culture of Saxony-Anhalt federal state of Germany.

Dorgerloh, for his part, stated that German school principals have visited Armenia through an exchange program, and now it is the Armenian principals’ turn.

He also informed that the matter which was discussed one year ago with the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, and regarding the inclusion of the Armenian Genocide topic in the school textbooks in Saxony-Anhalt, has received a positive solution.

Armen Ashotyan, in turn, said it is very touching and noteworthy that this German school manual is published on the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He also proposed to submit the respective track record to the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.
