YEREVAN. – The most important thing at the moment is that the ceasefire violations do not repeat in the contact zone of the Karabakh conflict.

The German Ambassador to Armenia, Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday.

“We are concerned about the events that have occurred at the contact zone of the Karabakh conflict in recent weeks and days,” stressed Kiesler. “It’s very important that the escalation [of tension] is prevented. The OSCE Minsk Group exists for this; this is their job.

“The task at hand is to reduce the tension and create a climate of mutual understanding, which will become the basis for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

“Germany will be the OSCE Co-Chairing country next year. And believe [me], Germany will do everything possible to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.”
