YEREVAN. – Me and my parents, being deprived of the homeland, I am glad that I now have three homelands—Armenia, France, and Switzerland—, where I feel happy.

World-renowned French Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, and public activist Charles Aznavour, who is also Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, noted the aforesaid at a recent official reception in Geneva, and devoted the 24th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

Aznavour delivered remarks at the event and said 24 years are certainly not a long time for a nation with more than three millennia of history, informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Nonetheless, as per the legendary musician—and now also diplomat, these 24 years of independence of the Republic of Armenia are a crucial period for the Armenian people, especially in terms of reintegration into the family of nations. Charles Aznavour also expressed his gratitude to all friends of Armenia, and all those who are the country’s companions on this road.
