YEREVAN. – In case of hostilities, Armenia will take all necessary steps as a security guarantor of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, including its recognition, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said in the parliament.

He noted that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are making open and targeted statements indicating the side responsible for ceasefire violations and voicing the need to introduce investigation mechanisms. The statements made by co-chairs suggest that responsibility for the incidents falls on Azerbaijani side, Nalbandian added.

The Minister recalled that U.S. Congressmen Ed Royce and Eliot Engel sent a letter to Co-Chair James Warlick with a request for additional efforts to maintain ceasefire, and the diplomat welcomed the initiative.

“We also welcome it, of course. We speak for withdrawal of snipers and strengthening of ceasefire. Azerbaijan is the party that opposes the initiative,” he added.
