YEREVAN. – The process of Armenian Genocide recognition is underway in Belgium, Minister-President of Belgium’s Wallonia-Brussels Rudi Demotte told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Asked whether there was aggression or alienation in the Turkish or Muslim communities following Belgium PM’s remarks about Armenian Genocide, Mr. Demotte said the issue was much discussed in the Belgian parliament.

“It is true that the Turkish community is divided about recognition. But it is obvious that some of its members are gradually beginning to clarify the issue. And they are able to change the atmosphere of tension for the better,” he added.

The delegation headed by Minister-President of Wallonia arrived in Armenia within the framework of the 31st Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
