YEREVAN. – Latvia unconditionally supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics said during his meeting with Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian attached importance to political dialogue between Armenia and Latvia that promotes comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception and excellent organization of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, Minister Rinkevics considered it symbolic that the first Latvian Foreign Minister participates in the Francophonie Ministerial Conference in Armenia.

The parties noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of relations between Armenia and Latvia, and discussed the organization of high level visits, cooperation within international organizations, trade and economic collaboration.

The ministers exchanged views on Eastern Partnership summit in Riga. In this context, Latvian FM thanked Armenia's constructive participation in the summit.

Mr. Nalbandian and Mr. Rinkevics discussed possibilities of cooperation between the EU and the Eurasian Union.

Armenia's FM presented the efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group into finding peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict, as well as tense situation in the conflict zone caused by Azerbaijan's provocations. In this regard, Latvian official emphasized that his country unconditionally supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the proposals submitted by them.

The officials also discussed developments in the Middle East, migration flows and the efforts to resolve these challenges.
