Residents of Jrashen village in Armenia’s Lori province have faced a problem: they can’t sell their cabbage and potato harvest.

Jrashen governor Vahan Urusyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the year was productive, but this didn’t increase the villagers’ income, since they can’t sell their harvest.

According to him, the residents are trying to sell the harvest on motorways and Vanadzor province center. One kilogram of cabbage is 50 AMD in villages.

“We have loans in the banks. We also have students and pupils, and the winter and New Year are ahead. We hope that we’ll solve one issue by selling at least the cabbage harvest. But, actually, we have to sell several kilograms on the road to bring home the bacon,” Jrashen resident Grandpa Volodya told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to the governor, there was time when people came to their village to procure the harvest for the army, or exporters went there. But in the recent years, Jrashen has also been deprived of this opportunity – they sell as much as they can before spring, while the rest is recycled.
