YEREVAN. - A center of cyber security is planned to be opened in Armenia in spring 2016. Arsen Taroyan, director of Yerevan Computer Research and Development Institute (YCRDI) told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The founder of the center will be YCRDI, which will be backed by a number of state authorities. The center will be located in the territory of “Mars” factory within “Alliance” free economic zone (FEZ). But the center will neither become an FEZ resident nor request tax exemptions. “It will function as a non-profit foundation,” Taroyan said.

The center will work in 4 key directions: education and re-qualification, own developments and incubator for beginning developers.  

“The developments will relate to the program insurance of the entire security complex of computer system,” Taroyan said.

The representatives of the Institute met with Eugene Kaspersky, who recently visited Armenia and was bestowed 2015 RA Presidential Award for the global contribution in the IT sphere. “Kaspersky Lab” has agreed to cooperate with the new center and transfer their experience for academic courses.
