The 350th anniversary of the first Bible in Armenian and 200th birth anniversary of celebrated Russian Armenian seascape artist Ivan (Hovhannes) Aivazovsky will be included in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) 2016-2017 calendar of celebrities and important events.

The respective decision was made at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, during the 38th session of its General Conference.

As a result, a total of 21 anniversaries submitted by Armenia have been put on the aforesaid UNESCO calendar, ever since 1998.
