YEREVAN. - The regime of the Eurasian Union (EEU) leads to holdbacks in import of computer security technology to Armenia, Unicomp CJSC (computer technology retailer) Director General Armen Baldryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

According to him, this is one of the several difficulties which his sphere experiences under EEU regime. There are no major procedural difficulties with other equipment, he said. The customs duties on computer technology haven’t increased either.

“Issues rise only with regard to the goods for ciphering and deciphering. They require special permission which wasn’t applied before. Of course, this is justified in case of secret equipment, but there is also equipment for civil designation, which doesn’t require such rigor,” Baldryan said.

The latter includes firewalls, routers and personal identification devices (tokens). Receiving permissions for them takes 15-20 days.
