YEREVAN. - Head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction Vahram Baghdasaryan thinks that the article published by Armenia’s first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan contains nothing new.

“I’m surprised that such an experienced politician and Armenia’s first president connects the constitutional amendments with the geopolitical developments and tensions. These tensions can last for decades, but does this mean we shouldn’t make constitutional amendments?” Vahram Baghdasaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

Ex-President Levon Ter-Petrosyan published an article today where he expressed hope that “expressing a state mentality” Serzh Sargsyan “is able to at least temporarily suspend the adoption process of the new constitution, and if this is no longer possible, he can at least give up the idea of falsifying the referendum results at any cost.”

“I’m sure that Serzh Sargsyan is perhaps the only person in Armenia’s governmental system who precisely realizes the threats of the current geopolitical situation created round our country,” Ter-Petrosyan wrote.
