Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan today attended the meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in St. Petersburg, Armenia’s Parliament Public Relations and Media Department reports.

Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker and Head of the Armenian parliamentary delegation to CSTO Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA), made a report on “The priorities of Armenian presidency in CSTO in 2016,” which was adopted unanimously.   

At the PA meeting, the Armenian delegation proposed to hold the next session - in the first quarter of 2016 - in Armenia. CSTO PA accepted the proposal.  

In the framework of the working visit, Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan also attended the meeting of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly.  Among different issues included in the agenda, was that of granting “Chingiz Aitmatov 2015 Award” to director of Yerevan’s Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and famous scientist Hrachya Tamrazyan. The award ceremony will take place on November 27 during the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly meeting in St. Petersburg.
